Turquoise was selected as the color of 2010 by Pantone. Pantone is the world-renowned authority on color – they supply color solutions across various industries. According to demand from their fashion and home decor customers, turquoise is going to be hit of 2010.

This color of ocean is somewhere between green and blue – both inviting (usual characteristics of blue) and invigorating (characteristics of green) – and it is sometimes referenced as ‘transporting’ color. Turquoise is said to transport you far from, it is the color of vacation. And vacation is something what everybody needs after a very difficult year!

Turquoise color is great to freshen up conservative home decors focused on grey, black or white. Interior designer Charlotte Moss says: "We’re looking for things that are that are flexible and more universal, and that is turquoise."

Turquoise is quite bright color, but because of its ’spa-feeling’ it has also relaxing effect of darker colors. Therefore it is ideal for urban areas. You can try it on your walls for example!
